The first integrated layout for Pathfinder’s photonic ion-trap chip on 138Ba+: waveguide routing, on-chip collection optics, and the material stack. The write-up and CAD design of the model are now publicly available.

In order to get to the cutting edge of the industry, we reviewed the published literature on experimental atomic physics and visited labs across Europe to learn directly from the source.
