Jonathan dropped out of university in 2021 to work full time on arbitrage strategies with a team of experienced programmatic traders at what is now Special Mechanisms Group. He later started programming trading bots alone while living in South America, and was awarded just shy of $100k in grants from organisations such as GMX and Synthetix throughout late 2023 and early 2024, before raising $1m of capital to start a private trading organisation.
He had been following the quantum computing industry since 2023. In April 2026 he moved into the field full time to found Pathfinder.
Outside work, he reached the top 0.2% of players worldwide in rapid chess, enjoys playing the guitar, and speaks both Spanish and Russian.
